A Bear of a Maximum

This is my 25th Maximum. It came during round of Modified Doubles quite near the end of the session, and in fact I only had the double 13 left. If I had not missed that double so many times I would have had to wait a while more for my 25th max. I am very happy with this maximum as it is the first I have hit with my Nobu's.

This is my Current Preferred Configuration for the Nobu's. Short Twin Grip stems and slim poly (non-dimplex) flights. Right now the flights are Black Bear flights but I change flights frequently and that does not affect my CPC (as long as they are still slim poly).

If there is one I have learnt this year it how important Doubles practice shots are. Everything seems to follow when you are happy taking out the Doubles. Nice shot.

Right on Tommo. Doubles are so important in practice. You should take a look at my Modified Doubles routine and see if it is a fun practice routine for you.

I saw that article. I know those doubles are your preferred finishes, but I tend to concentrate on all of the really niggly ones like 2, 3, 5, 7 where you sometimes need to hit a small single just to get to a "bad / low" double. I'll give the Modified Doubles a try tonight and I'll post a few of my ideas.

I understand. I do practice very double I just listed the first 6 or 7 in the sequence. And I do not practice 'outs' as much as I practice 'doubles'. I never aim for singles in practice.

I get it now. Just tried it. It takes quite a while and is not the sort of game you can take a break in so my arm is sore now :o)

Most of the time I was looking at a double in Flight School order with just two darts in my hand due to a really low rate of getting T20 with the first dart. I got a couple of tons and three 80+, but no 120+

Right on. It seems like I have some sessions in which I rarely hit the 60 with the first dart and really fly through the doubles, and other games where I get lots of tons but drag on the doubles.

Just a point of clarification. The order I do doubles in is of my own design. It is not from Flight School at all.

I was using the order in your "Practice - Pre-Flight School" post, but I don't think the order is that important to me. It's just some good practice at needing to get a T20 rather than an unambitious "marker", and then having only 2 darts at a double as so often happens in games. If I'm in a hurry I can always use just the 10 doubles which seem to crop up in most of my games, so this is a great exercise thanks.

I am glad you found it useful!
