For those who love Accudart...

During my never ending search to find a set of Accudart Pro-Line Masters I stumbled across an Accudart lot on eBay. I’ve always been interested in anything related to Accudart. The price was right so I placed a bid on the auction. A few days later I received an e-mail saying I won the bid. Here are some pictures for your enjoyment.

As you can see this was a pretty nice find. I received
  • 2 - Series 301 Tungsten-Brass Darts
  • 2 - Series 650 Brass Darts
  • 1 - Series 501 Nickel-Silver Darts
  • 1 - Series 501 Brass Darts
  • 1 - Tun 80 Tungsten Alloy Darts
  • 1 - The Variant Tungsten Adjustable Weight Darts
  • 4 - Spare feather flights

Here is a picture of the Accudart Variant. Perhaps an idea way ahead of its time. A fun set to toss. Ideal for the tinkerer in all of us. There are 36 different ways that you can configure the weight of these darts. From 12.5 grams all the way up to 28 grams.

Here is a picture of the Accudart Tun 80. The weight is 24 grams and they are fuzz under 2 inches long. These darts fly nicely using the long shafts provided with standard flights.

More pictures of the entire Accudart package can be found on my gallery.

mcvickj: congrats on the win!! That is quite a catch you made, especially those Varients with complete packaging and configuration cards. Those are highly sought after darts and usually go for big bucks on ebay when they surface. I thought about bidding on them from time to time but I always held off since I figured I'd never throw such a thick darts anyway. Turns out I have been tossing some thick brass darts lately. Well done and looks like you have a nice collection growing!!

I'm very interested in the whole concept of the Accudart Variant. Is there anything similar available now?

Geez... I haven't seen Accudart in what seems like years. (It has been). I currently throw Accudart Pro-Line 95s that my (ex)wife gave me for my 31st birthday. I'll be 42 soon. I have a set of Dart World "Jim Umberger" Pro-Points too, but I always revert to my fixed-point Pro-Line darts.

As far as darts that allow for weight configuration there really is not much out there. You see on ebay sometimes a post for variable weight darts but it is almost always darts that have add a grams included, which is cheap at best. I have designed a dart or two that will allow this but I have not way to implement it, and it is not worth the cost of hiring it out.

I have some of the Voks darts that mcvickj is talking about. The only thing I do not like about them is that they are "spring-points" only and there is no way to configure them as fixed point darts. Not until i get a lathe anyway.

I don't know that I'd want a variable weight dart, except maybe to find different weights I'd be comfortable with. Too much to mess around with, I guess. To a collector, I'd say they are a must.

I have a set of The Variant Accudart. Does anyone know what they are worth.

I picked up my set on ebay for about 32 dollars. I see them on ebay quite often actually. You should keep an eye out for them and then watch the auction. That'll give you a pretty good idea what people will pay for them.

This page came up when I was seeing if I could find a set of my darts online. On my 31st birthday, my (then) wife bought me a set of 22gm Accudart Pro-Line 95s. I'm still using them from time to time and I'll be 59 a week from today. At the time, a lot of what you have pictured were carried in the local Navy Exchange where my wife got mine.
