Today's Selection

25 gram Crossfires, short aluminum shaft, standard dimplex flights. These are some of my more unique darts. The first time my buddy saw them he said, "Ah. Sputnik."

15 gram Red Dragons Featherlites, medium Spiraline shafts, Spiraline flights. My lightest steel tip set. Fixed point. I have never even seen lighter steel tip darts on the internet.

21 gram Harrows Rhinos, short nylon shafts, standard flights. I won these in a consolation tournament after an unsuccessful league season. They have tungsten front loading but it is a brass dart.

As always, click the image for a larger picture.

Hello, great blog.

You appear to throw with quite a large amount of different sets. Is this not detrimental to your game? Wouldn't you do better to stick to a set?

Thanks for the comment, and yes, I think you are right. My scores would likely improve a bit if I were to stick to a single set of darts and ignore the others. But then I'd never throw my other darts and I like them all (well almost all of them anyway). For me darting isn't completely about the scores. It is also about having fun and for me that means a variety of darts. I also have developed an underlying goal, and that is to create the perfect dart. So I mess around with barrel types and weights, and shaft amd flight combos all the time. -z.

Hi, very interesting site. In response to your comment about 15g being the lightest you have seen, "Tommy's Darts" here in the UK (sadly no website) sell some styles in weights as light as 12g. Several places also sell them including here: http://www.moordarts.co.uk/tri-slkl.html

I use the 16g version of the knurled Triumphs, as shown on that page, they're perfect for me and also very cheap to replace when the grip starts to wear off, not like the Harrows Magnums I used to play with - it got expensive as they lost their grip after about 3 months!

Hi Andy, thanks for the pointer! I am always looking for interesting darts and anything lighter than 15 grams definitely qualifies. I have ordered darts from England before so I just might pick up a set of the 12 gram ringed Triumphs.
