So many people have said that I'm nuts that I now question my reasoning in this matter. I will think (and throw) on it some more at any rate...Zeeplehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17217303030920572083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8402224.post-1155156888897393432006-08-09T13:54:00.000-07:002006-08-09T13:54:00.000-07:00I think you are giving away a dart.. sitting on 18...I think you are giving away a dart..

sitting on 18 left... and you miss into the 9... so what throw a one and leave yourself with 8 the next round... miss high you get a second chance...

thow your way... and miss the double... you are in the same boat again... the next round...

So here is how I look at it...

Throw at the dbl 9 and:
worst: 1 dart at double 1st turn... 3 second turn (4)
Better: 3 darts at double 1st turn... 3 second
Best: hit it on your first dart...

ok your way... same as the worst above... basically you are giving away a dart... for no benifit... I seem to have the opposite opinion to the common wisdom. Hm. Well I will of course keep an ever open mind and perhaps some day I will come around to your way of thinking, but I will not risk leaving myself an odd number with one dart left.

18 left and 2 darts left, for me, is:

1st dart: 6/10 wedge (fat)
2nd dart: d6 or d4Zeeplehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17217303030920572083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8402224.post-1153997780392352692006-07-27T03:56:00.000-07:002006-07-27T03:56:00.000-07:00What do you do with 18 left and 2 darts in your ha...What do you do with 18 left and 2 darts in your hand ???

I would never waste a dart that could be the finish dart.

Cheers from GermanyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8402224.post-1153991010392515322006-07-27T02:03:00.000-07:002006-07-27T02:03:00.000-07:00I'm afraid I'm not convinced, and I'd prefer two d...I'm afraid I'm not convinced, and I'd prefer two darts at D9 rather than just one dart at a "good" double. Missing the double doesn't always result in a split afterall, and two chances are better than one when your opponent may checkout if you miss.

The OpenOffice suite is excellent. I tried it on your recommendation and it appears on most PC magazine cover disks each month. They have some speed issues with the spreadsheet, but nothing a home user would ever notice - only on sheets which would take Excel 30 minutes to calculate. Who has one of those!Tommohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14861788511224148049noreply@blogger.com
